Kids Program
Kids (AGES 6+)
The kids program is based on achieving short term goals within a ten belt system which ends with a the Junior Black Belt. Your child will learn kicks, Strikes, blocks, rolls and breakfalls incorporated in partner based drills. The kicking is a simplified version of Korean Tae-Kwon-Do, the striking and blocks are from North American Boxing and Japanese Karate, the rolls and breakfalls comes from the Korean based martial art of Hapkido.
The student will be tested once deemed ready using a striping system. The test is a pass or fail test during the regular attended class. There are no fees for testing other than the cost of the belt $10.
Class structure - Classes are 50 mins long and consist of Physical and verbal life skills. The coaches corners introduce concepts of communication skills, meditation, first Aid,, how to deal with Bullies, emotional intelligence and various other life skills to help students manage challenges outside of the dojo.
Kids Advanced Classes
This class is an invite only class that is 55 minutes in length. Once the student shows the maturity and skill level Sifu will reach out and contact the family to attend the classes. It is recommended that the student is a minimum of a Purple Belt although exceptions have been made.
once the student has earned all stripes in the program, they will be invited into the Junior Black Belt training program. These classes will be semi-Private lessons for the students so they can be prepared to pass their junior black belt test with flying colours.
The Junior black belt test is a special occasion where we will be inviting the student’s family and friends to the 2-3 hour exam and has a fee of $200. (The fee covers the Belt, Boards, Plaque that will be used/earned during the exam.)
By the end of the approximate 3-5 years, the now Junior black belt student will have a choice to train in the Youth/Adult classes as an adult blue belt. The training will be with older more mature students towards the next goal of An adult black belt in the Gong Fu Program.
